The 9th "Culture and Computer Science" conference focuses on the challenges and prospects of multimedia-based systems in the Cultural and Creative Industries. Research and development approaches concerning the interaction in Museum- and City Information Systems, multimedia-based exhibition concepts, portals for museums and computer games will be discussed. We are pleased to announce Dr. Stefan Weber of the Pergamon museum as a keynote speaker of the conference on the topic "Visualisation and animation: Information technology in the mediation of complex cultural heritage from a museum perspective". Further keynote presentations will be given by Prof. Dr. Kris Luyten of the Hasselt University (Belgium) on "iDiscover: Towards the next generation of Contextualised Mobile Museum Guides" and Paul Clifford of the Museum of London on "Blended Learning in the cultural sector.
