About
The 6th annual "Wireless Communication and Information" conference will focus on excellent and innovative developments and applications in wireless communication. The conference will take place from October 15 to 16, 2009 in Berlin. It is organised and presented by HTW Berlin, the Library of Humboldt University Berlin and the Berlin Joint Competence Center of the Alcatel-Lucent Stiftung für Kommunikationsforschung. Notable national and international experts from academic research institutions as well as industry R&D departments will meet to exchange scientific and technical ideas and experiences.
In the last few years, wireless communication has quickly become very important. Radio transmission technology is employed in cell phones, notebook computers, navigation systems, TVs, vehicles and even in work clothing. RFID, Bluetooth, GSM, UMTS, LTE, WiMAX, WLAN, GPS, and Galileo are just some of the buzzwords representing a large variety of new technologies.
The main topics of the international WCI 2009 conference will be “near field communication and social networks” and multimedia applications in museums and libraries. The participants will also discuss issues of data privacy and security. Additional topics include the data management for mobile applications and an outlook on the next generation of innovative technologies for mobile radio communications.
